Random thoughts on animation and related topics.
Born in Moscow, U.S.S.R. emigrated to the U.S. at age 7. Lived in the Boston, MA. area until graduating from high school, at which point I went to the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence. Majored in Illustration. After two years back in Boston I went to Cal Arts for a year (Experimental Animation). Spent 2 years in L.A. working on computer games and as a character layout artist on the Simpsons. Came close to having a nervous breakdown and decided to move back east before L.A. did me in. Got married in 2000 and soon afterwards moved back to Providence. Have been freelancing for the most part with varying degrees of success. I'm also working on a short Flash animation for myself, writing a book and teaching myself the piano.

I really like the feel of this image that partly comes from the realistic, intimate pose.
